Missing dog provided stress relief for other dogJune 27th, 2012 by Chris Henry
SILVERDALE — Josey, a Golden Retriever and Chow Chow mixed breed
dog, hasn’t been the same since her smaller counterpart went
The owner of the two dogs Silverdale resident Roger Bailey said for the past few years, a small 3-year-old Shih Tzu named Harley has helped reduce Josey’s stress level.
She has an autoimmune disorder, Bailey said, and Harley “plays a major (role) in her health.”
Last Sunday, Bailey left the two dogs in his car for about 30 minutes while shopping at Home Depot in Silverdale. He cracked the window open about six inches.
When he came back home and let the dogs out of the car, only Josey jumped out of the car, Bailey said.
He believes someone reached in his car and took the small dog out of the car.
The 74-year-old owner has filed a report with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and checked the humane society.
Harley is black and white and about six pounds.
