Blogosphere notes

Kind of lean this morning in terms of content. Over-night tweets have the Mariners linked in discussions regarding prospects for the Tiger’s Rick Porcello. I was thinking Olivo for Porcello, but it’s too late for that. I had a quick look before at pitcher Rick and he’s lost it. Fangraphs illustrates how bad things have become for him. Why you would move anybody with upside for him, when the Tigers are begging anybody to take him sort of defies comment.

Dave Cameron over night took 2,700 words to describe how acquisitions of Bay and Ibanez and presence of Smoak have roster in odd spot. Inability to ph for Ryan, Smoak follies etc, with his conclusion that the Mariners should sign Chris Gimenez as third catcher. If this allows for more at bats for Bay, Ibanez and Smoak it will not result in either development nor competitiveness. Can you imagine a game where Bay, Ibanez and Gimenez were playing simultaneously as starters. That must be viewed as an organizational failure if they are trying to move towards competition in the division.

Pretty quiet.
