Josh Hamilton

December 6th, 2012 by terrybenish

For the last twenty hours a fever pitch was achieved at about 6:00 am today, when dozens of National correspondents were posting stories that the Mariners were about to do a deal with Josh Hamilton. In a moment of over the top anxiety, seeing his 2013 bonus going up in smoke, Chuck Armstrong, President for life rushed out and said, “STOP!! There is nothing going on, we’re not close.”

Then as the balloon fizzed all over the sky, it stopped and started to re-inflate rise, albeit more slowly. Apparently it is a three year deal and numbers are going back and forth.

Hamilton would prefer Texas, but Nolan Ryan wearing his ego out in front of him like a big belt buckle has told Hamilton that no, if we sign Zack Greinke we can’t sign you and he’s not responding.

So we wait. Mariners are second choice for now. Other teams can now consider if they want him.
