Free agent potpourri

The Times heard from Jack Zduriencik on his way to general manager meetings that the “right player” could get them to spend beyond last year’s payroll. In my dialogs with Geoff, I have likened that to pushing on a string. Hard to believe that a big bopper with choices will come here, until some results show up on fence move. So Jack’s remarks should be regarded as a qualified statement. Link below.

Dayn Perry of CBSSports.com has a great piece about his view of top five free agents and where they will go. Sports a matrix with opinions of the CBSSports baseball writers. Very interesting. Brewers are seen as big players. Link below.

Another piece that is a little light content wise on Free agent first basemen from CBSSports.com

More to come.
