Dave Hansen New Hitting Coach
October 22nd, 2012 by terrybenishRecently fired from the same job with the Los Angeles Dodgers, it was revealed today that Hansen was the number two guy to Chris Chambliss when that hiring decision was made.
I’m perhaps the only person to conjure up thoughts that if they thought Chambliss was better and that was a correct assessment two years ago, then why is that something to endorse him with as the job Chambliss did, at least in terms of results, was not good. Similarly Hansen was available due to the poor hitting of the Dodgers.
His remarks took the path of we have some good young hitters with some good swings who need just a little help.
I mean, well shoot, what’s he supposed to say? “It can’t get worse?”
I’m here to tell him that this year was an improvement, but still the worse team in the American League, and it could get worse. Unfortunately.
I can tell you this Steffen Romero is tearing up the Arizona Fall League and Mike Zunino is not, although Zunino’s not doing too bad, but reality is setting in. Paxton go banged around yesterday. Nick Franklin continues to hit well. He’s mostly played second base as has Romero, who did play one game at 3b, while Catricala played a game in left field and is not hitting much.
