Roster Ruminations

Dave Cameron postulates about the emergence of Mike Zunino and concludes too soon and not next spring mainly due to a don’t rush him worry, given the failure of Smoak and Ackley. www.ussmariner.com

Jeff Sullivan spins words on Smoak’s failure to date but drives off into a field without being able to conclude anything. Moral equivalent of the flight of the bumblebee… www.lookoutlanding.com

Shannon Drayer talks about the hitters one through four: “Dustin Ackley, Michael Saunders, Kyle Seager, and John Jaso…” http://mynorthwest.com/?nid=373

She voices the lack of credibility that Gutierrez brings to the table, as did Cameron last week, not to mention this blog.

Cameron asserts that Jaso has earned the right to be catcher against rh pitching, the corollary to which is that Zunino would only play against left handed pitchers, which would hugely stunt his upside. I’d rather see Zunino run out there for 125 games and somebody else catch the other 37 games. Let Jaso play first base against right handers.

The Times is not sending anybody to the road games and apparently only one of Baker and Stone to home games.

Virtually no coverage from Times or News Tribune. Terrible thing.
