Mariners Take Two Of Three From Giants

June 17th, 2012 by terrybenish

Maybe the best game of the year from the Mariners. Felix threw well today, he was locked up with the Giants best pitcher this year Madison Bumgarner.

1-1 going into 9th. Tom Wilhelmsen pitches himself around some guys into a bases loaded situation then gets two outs to get out of it. Top drawer stuff.

Seager leads off the ninth with a single, then Big Jesus lines a two strike shot into center field. Then the Wedgester pinch hits for Casper Wells with Saunders who had the day off to that point. Wells was 1-3 at that point. Saunders comes in and after fouling off the first bunt attempt, bunts it to the pitcher who throws out Figgins, pinch running for Seager at third. Then Kawasaki pinch runs for Big Jesus at second and Justin Smoak hits a line drive into left field and Kawasaki scores. Big win, Smoak picks up Wedge who spent three players and had nobody left.

Well, it worked.
