Harvest Fair
September 27th, 2011 by michellewhiteThis past Sunday, September 25, was the Annual Harvest Fair over at Johnson Farm on Bainbridge Island. Every year the Friends of the Farms work hard to organize this fabulous family friendly event.
Each year, my husband is honored to be one of the Pie Judges, and the girls and I come along to enjoy the fair!
This time, when we awakened on Sunday morning to see the rain teaming down, we were a little disappointed. We all bundled up in rain gear and trudged out to the grounds. When we got there, the rain stopped and we saw this:
It turned out to be one of the
nicest Fall days complete with sun and a rainbow.
There were, also, animals…
Beautiful Strawberries
grown by Sol Farm.
And then there were the pies.
Oh the pies!
Add some spectacular music and
the whole experience was complete!
Cat Loves Crow was
one of the many bands that played and created a lively fair
atmosphere.
So if you haven’t ever had the chance to attend this wonderful community event, I highly recommend marking your calendars for next year!
In the meantime, you can check out more photos of this day over at Falafel and the Bee.
