Moms on Film

May 9th, 2010 by Wendy

In honor of Mother’s Day, @atthemoviestv tweeted this question today:

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL the mothers out there!! And, in honor of today, who are some of your favorite on-screen mothers?

That got me thinking. And what I realized is most of the mothers in film I thought of immediately were not exactly role model type mothers.

Of course, there was Mommie Dearest.

Icy freakazoid bitch

Then there was Kramer v. Kramer.

Icy confused bitch.

Or even Ordinary People.

Icy kicked-out-on-her-behind bitch.

So in terms finding a woman who I might want to be even just a little bit like, that leaves me with her:

Icy hot bitch.

What moms on film do you like?

amen to dat! or one that has gone all permanent-look-of-surprise-face plastic surgeried up! isn’t it so nice to watch older movies and see actors WITH EXPRESSION!?

  3. Dumblond Says:

The ladies from Steel Magnolias. Especially Shirley MacLaine’s character, Weeza. She reminds me of my gramma (God Rest Her Soul). She was crotchety and funny too.

  4. Wendy Says:

oh, good one! weeza was great!!

how about the grandma in My Bodyguard (NOT the Whitney H. movie!)? did you see that? played by ruth gordon!
