Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve 28-5 at 24 years old Vs. Stipe Miocic 9-0 at 30 years old

September 28th, 2012 by Joshua Scott Beranis

Godzilla vs. Bambi.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpBkc2jK-6w I remember seeing the little cartoon short at the beginning of Godzilla 1985, and for some reason that is the picture I have in my head when I think about a 33 bout deep Struve facing off at weigh-ins against a significantly shorter and stouter Miocic, who despite being undefeated, is only ankle deep in 9 MMA bouts.

Miocic is good at a short distance with strikes, and it seems like he gains the upper hand quite easily once he has his opponent on the ground and under punches or elbows. In UFC 146, Miocic squashed Shane Del Rosario’s head against the mat with those elbows in the clinch. Miocic has landed knockout after knockout, and that is what would be his definite saving grace in this bout, if only Struve didn’t have the reach of a three-toed sloth, and legs like a pair of Anacondas.

This really will be a nail-biter. All the way up until they both enter the cage. The winner should present themselves well before the fourth round.
