Bremerton invited you to Chat Live with Bristol Marunde during Episode 1 of TUF 16
September 8th, 2012 by Joshua Scott BeranisThat was the facebook message I got this morning. I’ll have to
talk about this more later, but this is the gentleman who took
Kitsap Sun Pavillion March 3rd for a promotion featuring local
amateur cage-fighting talent, landing local Ryan Schmelzle a place
in the sports section by editor Chuck Stark.
This is the kind of stuff I’m talking about people. We’re legit. If
one Washingtonian is on his way up, many others are to follow.
Like… salmon swimming upstream or something.
Never got to meet Bristol, but have heard a lot about him. Especially among the Full Circle and Rough House gang, who have been able to meet with him face to face on several training occasions. From my understanding, Chuck Stark, Sun Sports Editor, was there at the Pavillion to watch the whole thing go down bout after bout. Likely, he brushed shoulders at some point with Bristol himself, and several of all you local fighters who took part in the event. This is good, because if he chances by the Ultimate Fighter on FX while looking for something decent on T.V., he will be able recognize Bristol’s face while he goes up against 32 other people in the house.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed on the appearance of my most recent MMA public awareness write-up. Shout out on Kitsap Sun’s Facebook page for me, to let them know that Kitsap County MMA needs coverage at least weekly, and that yours truly is fighting the good fight.
I’ll be hitting up Bristol Marunde this September 14th, and the rest of you should be too. Just like Nathan Adrian bringing an Olympic Gold Medal home to Bremerton, this is a Washington fighter who has the chance to bring something home to us… so to speak at least… He does train out of Las Vegas, but the point is that he’s from Sequim.
