Purpose Boutique opening at The Trails

unnamed Bremerton-based Purpose Boutique will open a store at The Trails at Silverdale on Monday, becoming the first Kitsap-based business to join the Greaves Way shopping center.

“We could not be more excited for our launch in Silverdale which will create new opportunities for our customers who want to shop and at the same time, change lives around the world,” Purpose CEO Christie Johnson said in a news release.

“We are dedicated to being a business that gives back to the global community and we feel very welcomed at the Trails.”

Purpose, which sells apparel and accessories for “women of all shapes, styles and backgrounds,” first opened in Bremerton in 2013 and added a Kirkland store in 2014. The boutique donates a portion of its sales to charities that combat human trafficking.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for noon on Sept. 30, followed by a grand opening celebration Oct. 1.

The Trails also will welcome a discount outdoor gear store and burger joint this fall.

Sierra Trading Post is slated to open in October. Silverdale will be the first Washington location for Sierra, which does most its business online.

The Habit Burger Grill is expected to open in November, adding a sixth dining option to the development. The California-based fast-casual chain has one other restaurant in Washington.

brempurpose_9177864_ver1.0_640_480 A Bremerton boutique and a California burger chain have been announced as tenants in The Trails at Silverdale shopping center.

Purpose Boutique and The Habit Burger Grill are both slated to open at The Trails this spring, according to a Tuesday news release from developer CenterCal Properties.

Unknown Silverdale will be the third location for Purpose, which has stores on Pacific Avenue in Bremerton, and on Central Way in Kirkland.

The Habit Burger Grill operates dozens of restaurants in California, but just one in Washington (it’s in Kent). The Irvine-based chain describes itself as a “fast casual restaurant concept that specializes in preparing fresh, made-to-order char-grilled burgers and sandwiches.”

Other businesses slated to open in The Trails this year include Corner Bakery, DSW, Forever 21, Jersey Mike’s, Old Navy, Sleep Number, and Verizon.

Chipotle, MOD Pizza, Silverdale Smiles Dentistry, and Total Wine already opened this year in the Greaves Way development.

Two Kitsap County businesses are among five finalists for Kitsap Bank’s $20,000 edg3 FUND prize.

Bremerton’s Purpose Boutique and Poulsbo’s Smithshyre farm were chosen from a pool of sixteen semifinalists.

The other finalists are Combat Flip Flops of Bellevue, Community Supported Biocycling of Seattle, and OlyKraut of Olympia.

The finalists will make their pitches to a panel of judges during a live finale. The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Kitsap Conference Center. Tickets are available here.

Six Kitsap companies in running for $20k prize

Smithshyre Farm — Who wouldn’t give this guy $20,000? Smithshyre farm in Poulsbo.

Kitsap Bank announced 16 semifinalists its $20,000 edg3 FUND competition Wednesday, and the list includes six Kitsap companies.

Nearly 60 businesses applied, according to a new release from the bank.

It just so happens we’ve written about all the local semifinalists at one time or another. Here’s the list of Kitsap hopefuls, with links to our stories:

The edg3 FUND contest recognizes businesses that contribute to their communities economically, socially and environmentally.
