Legal marijuana will roll into Bremerton early this month.
Recreational marijuana shop HWY 420 plans to open Oct. 11, after receiving its retail license Tuesday.
The business is located at the corner of Charleston Beach Road and Highway 304, just outside Bremerton city limits.
The opening date is set, but owner Annette Atkinson said finding marijuana to sell remains a challenge.
“Will we have product when we open?” Atkinson said. “That’s a really good question.”
Regardless, HWY 420 aims to be more than a simple pot shop. Atkinson said the store will carry an array of paraphernalia, including high-end, artistic pieces.
“We want it to be a gallery of glass,” she said.
Atkinson said neighboring shop keepers and Bremerton business leaders have been welcoming. HWY 420 already joined the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce.
HWY 420 is the third marijuana retailer approved in Kitsap County (see embedded map of approved marijuana businesses). The first two licenses were issued in Port Orchard.
That means three of the seven at-large licenses that will be issued in Kitsap County are spoken for. Two licenses will also be approved inside Bremerton city limits, along with one on Bainbridge Island.
HWY 420 is posting updates to its Facebook page.
