
Harrison Medical Center will hire a new CEO this year, after Scott Bosch announced his plans to retire at the end of July.
The hospital distributed a statement from board Chairman Jim Civilla this week, announcing the search committee selection and updating the search timeline. The committee will hold its first meeting April 21 to pick a national search firm.
According to Civilla, parent company Franciscan Health System “will accept the recommendation of the search committee with our Board of Director’s endorsement.”

Search Committee Will Select Harrison’s Next President

Scott Bosch has announced his retirement from Harrison Medical Center effective July 31, 2014. As chairman of the Board, I have formed a search committee to begin the process of selecting Harrison’s next president, and I will keep you informed of the progress as we go along.
Our Board and community medical staff representatives will have a strong voice in the selection of Harrison’s next president. Franciscan Health System will accept the recommendation of the search committee with our Board of Director’s endorsement. The search committee will be made up of the following members:
- George Berni, MD: the chair of Harrison HealthPartners’ Leadership Council and who also serves as an advisory member to our Board of Directors. Dr. Berni is a thoracic and vascular surgeon with Harrison HealthPartners.
- Ronald Reimer, MD: a recently retired oncologist. Dr. Reimer has been a member of Harrison’s Board of Directors since July 2013.
- Gregory Hoisington, DO: a medical director and pediatric physician with The Doctors Clinic. Dr. Hoisington served on Harrison’s Board Affiliation Advisory Committee and will join our Board of Directors beginning July 1.
- Paul Kremer, MD: an ophthalmologist with Achieve Eye and Laser Clinic. Dr. Kremer is a current member and past president of the Kitsap County Medical Society Board.
- Carl Cramer: a business owner in our community, Mr. Cramer has served as a member of our Board of Directors for the past 20 years. He served as chair for two terms, and currently serves as board representative for the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
- Kelly Nelson: the vice chair of our Board of Directors and a member of the Board since 2010. Ms. Nelson has also been very involved with our Foundation, having served as vice chair for the Foundation Board.
- Joe Wilczek: the FHS chief executive officer. He will help guide the selection process from a system perspective.
- I will also serve on the committee as Board chairman. I have been a Board member since 2005.
The search committee will first meet on Monday, April 21, to select a national search firm. I will keep you all informed throughout this process as to the next steps and anticipated timing with regard to a selection for our next president.
