BREMERTON — The Bremerton Housing Authority has completed $660,000 in renovations to the Winfield Apartments in Manette, and is now taking applications for the new subsidized housing.
BHA purchased the Winfield apartments off Perry Avenue last year to increase its stock of affordable housing. The complex has 22 units.
The Winfield formerly was market-rate apartments. Some Winfield residents who qualified for subsidized housing stayed. Others received financial assistance from the BHA to move.
Upgrades to the aging complex included a new roof, siding and insulation. Two free-stand units were outfitted for handicapped people.
Persons interested in living there can drop by the BHA office at 4040 Wheaton Way.
