Harrison Cancer
Program Earns
Special Validation
Bremerton
The cancer program at Harrison Medical Center has earned a three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
The accreditation comes following an on-site evaluation. Harrison earned a commendation level of compliance based on leadership, data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement.
“We remain steadfast in our focus to provide patients with exceptional oncology services,” Scott Bosch, Harrison’s president and CEO, said in a press release. “From technology to support to facility expansion efforts, patients can trust that our cancer care meets their needs.”
The Commission on Cancer’s Accreditation program sets quality-of-care standards for cancer programs and reviews the programs to ensure they conform to those standards. Accreditation is given only to facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. Facilities undergo an on-site review every three years. Harrison also received accreditation with commendation in 2006, the first year the CoC designated this accreditation standard of excellence.

Light Doctor has been awarded the contract for a complete lighting upgrade at Olympic College, including retrofitting lighting at the college’s campuses in Bremerton, Poulsbo and Shelton.
