Joins Regence Board
BREMERTON
Dr. Mark Adams of Bremerton, a local physician and former chief of staff at Harrison Medical Center, has been named to the board of directors of Regence, one of the region’s largest health insurers.
Adams is has been active in the community and is past president of the Washington State Medical Association, has served on the boards of the Foundation for Health Care Quality, the Washington State Health Insurance Pool and the Washington Healthcare Forum. He currently serves on the boards of the Olympic Peninsula Kidney Center and the American Hospital Association.

Sound Health Care Center has opened a new office in the Tremont Center at 463 Tremont St. W. and is accepting new patients.

A new virtual store has been set up to showcase and market the works of Bainbridge Island artists and artisans.
The Web site — www.MadeOnBainbridge.com — was created by islander Tara Powers-Hausmann. It carries everything from jewelry to books to apparel, all made by Bainbridge Islanders. For information, visit the Web site.
Home-Buying Classes Planned
SILVERDALE
RE/MAX, Eagle Home Mortgage and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission are presenting free first-time homebuyer classes that are mandatory for several loan programs.
Sessions are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. July 14 and 16;
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a one-day session July 11; 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug.
4 and 6;
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 15 for a one-day class; 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. Sept. 12 for a one-day class; and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15
and 17. Attendance is required both days when two dates are
given.
Classes will be at RE/MAX, 9224 Ridgetop Blvd. NW in Silverdale. To RSVP, call (360) 613-0822.
Also, the Windermere office in Silverdale will host a class on Wednesday for renters interested in the homebuying process. The class is from 6 to 7 p.m. at 2021 NW Myhre Road, Suite 200.
Topics covered include the federal tax credit, local down payment assistance programs, current overview of the mortgage market and local real estate market.

Engine Clinic Moves
SILVERDALE
Small Engine Clinic, a fixture in Old Town Silverdale for nearly 30 years, has moved to a new 8,400-square-foot facility atop Newberry Hill at 7775 NW Eldorado Blvd. in Silverdale.
The business, owned by Harold and Jeannie Trudeau, has plenty of parking, a drive-around for trailers and large vehicles and room to accommodate large lawn and garden equipment without the need for appointments.
Small Engine Clinic now carries large commercial mowers in stock and can service most brands of outdoor power equipment. A large inventory of fast-moving parts is kept on hand as well for those who like to do their own repairs.

for Charitable
Work
Bremerton
The Outback Steakhouse in Bremerton is among three Washington restaurants in the running for the National Restaurant Neighbor Award, a program by the National Restaurant Association that recognizes outstanding community service. The restaurant also has been honored with the WRA’s national chain award for its charitable contributions of more than $10,000 to the Bremerton community.
The award comes with a $5,000 grant for a favorite charity or community project.
