Business Opens

Affordable RV Repair, a firm specializing in recreational vehicle repair and maintenance, has opened at 6714 Kitsap Way in Bremerton, behind the Red Apple Diner. 

The business services all makes and models of RVs along with basic automobile detailing and tuneups. The technicians have more than 20 years’ experience and are RVIA and RVDA certified. They also do service calls in the Kitsap County area and sell RV parts for 20 percent less than their competitors.

New President of
Lawyers Chapter

SILVERDALE

Diane Russell of the Law Office of Diane F. Russell in Silverdale has been elected president of the Kitsap County Chapter of the Washington Women Lawyers.

Chosen to serve with Russell were Angela Olsen of Lindsay Olsen in Silverdale, vice president; Kati Lappi of the Law Offices of Kathleen Q. Lappi on Bainbridge Island, secretary; Lynn Fleischbein of Liebert Morgan & Fleischbein in Silverdale, treasurer; and Jennifer Brugger of the NW Justice Project in Port Orchard, chapter representative.

The organization is designed to further the full integration of women in the legal profession, to promote equal rights and opportunities for women and to prevent discrimination against them.

Bremerton

The Kitsap County Association of Realtors recently presented awards to members at its installation luncheon at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.

Lynn Williams, an associate broker with Reid Real Estate, was named Realtor of the Year. Williams, a professional Realtor during the past four decades, is the current president of the association.

Other honors went to Jerry Reid of Reid Real Estate, Jenks Beard Community Service Award; Bryan Petro of Kitsap Commercial Group, the Floyd Luckerath Realtor Spirit award; Ron Ross of Silverdale Realty, the Realtor Special Achievement Award; Jo Schaefer of Schaefer Callahan Hernandez Appraisal Group, the Affiliate of the Year award; Lary Coppola, Port Orchard mayor, the Citizen of the Year award; and Jean Bradford of John L. Scott, Inc., Richard A. Brown of Kitsap Commercial Group and Mike Eliason of Kitsap Association of Realtors executive officer, President’s Special Awards.

New officers installed were: including Williams, president; Gary Anderson, president-elect; John Clark, treasurer; Susan Troka, secretary; Thor Holm, immediate past president; and Anderson, Brown, Jon Byrd, Mary Cantu, Shaun Guerrero, Geri Jordan, Penny Hannifan, Heather Holmen, Jackie Killoran, Pablo Lozano, Dorothy Reincke, Jim Roberts, Ross, Dale Rude, Barbara Ann Stier, Susan Troka and Williams, directors.

On the Job

Betty Skinner of Bremerton was recently awarded an Allstate Hands in the Community Award for her volunteer work with MADD of Kitsap County, which will receive a $500 grant on her behalf. Skinner is secretary of the Kitsap County chapter of MADD.

Mike Chamberlin has joined Kitsap Bank as vice president and commercial loan officer at the Bay Street Branch in Port Orchard. He has nearly 35 years of commercial banking experience, spending the majority of his career in senior commercial lending positions in the greater Seattle area. He and his wife are longtime residents of Poulsbo.

Keith Lander is the new general manager of the Comfort Inn & Suites Bremerton. He previously was general manager for the Best Western Cascadia in Everett and also managed properties for Holiday Inn and Embassy Suites. Joining Lander on Comfort Inn’s new management team are Gerald Garcia, assistant general manager, and Jack Edwards, sales manager. The inn is located at 5640 Kitsap Way in Bremerton. Nan-shing Hsu, a board-certified family physician with years of experience in family medicine, has joined Group Health Cooperative in Silverdale. She most recently practiced in at Naval Hospital Bremerton. She received her medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia in the West Indies and went on to a family practice residency at Hudson Valley Family Practice Residency in New York. She recently completed a fellowship in geriatrics at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
