SK hoops standout Wattree commits to Eastern

South Kitsap senior basketball standout Eric Wattree is going to fly like an eagle next season.

Wattree committed to Eastern Washington University on Monday after a visit from Eagles head coach Jim Hayford. Wattree announced his decision at the conclusion of South Kitsap’s practice Tuesday evening.

Wattree, a 6-foot-3 guard, has been the Wolves’ leading scorer the past two season. He is averaging 25 points this winter as South Kitsap (7-9) tries to stay in the playoff hunt in the Narrows League 4A. The Wolves (2-6 league) host Yelm on Wednesday.
