Kingston soccer hosting state quarterfinal game Friday

May 21st, 2014 by jeff graham

Kingston’s boys soccer team will play Capital in the Class 2A state quarterfinals Friday at 7 p.m. at North Kitsap. The Bucs beat Orting in a penalty-kick shootout Tuesday at North Kitsap High School.

After Tuesday’s game, Kingston coach Craig Smith hoped his team would be allowed to play at its home field, which hosted two state games in 2007. Smith said he didn’t mind playing at North Kitsap, but that it wasn’t the same playing at home.

In the past, Kingston has been passed over as a host site because of its lack of bleachers and bathroom facilities.
