The baseball playoffs hit high gear on Tuesday. Here’s what’s what:
Baseball playoffs at a glance
West Central/Southwest bi-district
Tuesday: No. 7 South Kitsap (17-4) vs. Tahoma (15-4) at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, 4 p.m.; Central Kitsap (9-12) vs. Federal Way (10-7), at Heritage Park in Puyallup, 7 p.m.
Notes: South Kitsap, the Narrows League champs, plays in a winner-to-regionals game. A win Tuesday put them in the district semifinals. A loss and they have to fight through the consolation bracket and win two to return to regionals. … Central Kitsap, which won five straight and battled back from being in last place all season, plays in a loser-out game and must come through the consolation bracket.
Metro League Tournament
Tuesday: No. 8 Bainbridge (16-2) vs. West Seattle (13-7) at Steve Cox Memorial Park in Seattle, 4 p.m.
Notes: Bainbridge is playing in the semifinals and another win puts them back in regionals for a second consecutive year. A win also puts them in Thursday’s league title game at 7 p.m. A loss means the Spartans return Wednesday for a 7 p.m. loser-out game.
West Central District
Tuesday: Orting (9-6) vs. Klahowya (12-7) at Kitsap Fairgrounds, 4 p.m.; Olympic (11-9) vs. Lindbergh (10-5) at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, 5 p.m.
Wednesday: At Kitsap Fairgrounds, Klahowya/Orting winner vs. No. 5 White River (17-3), 4 p.m., Foster (11-10)/Franklin Pierce (9-1) winner vs. North Kitsap (12-7), 7 p.m. At Franklin Pierce, Tyee/Fife (13-6) winner vs. Sequim (12-7), 2:30 p.m. Olympic/Lindbergh winner vs. No. 1 Sumner (19-1), 5 p.m.
Notes: Tuesday’s games are loser out. Wednesday’s games are winner to regional. Wednesday’s losers are playing for one spot on Saturday at Franklin Pierce. Wednesday’s winners return for the district semifinals on Saturday at the Fairgrounds.
