Bainbridge seniors Shayla Archer and Geneva Levy are both ranked among the top 25 swimmers in the state, according to collegeswimming.com. Archer is ranked 20th while Levy is ranked 24th.
Archer won the 100-yard backstroke last year at the Class 3A meet as a junior. She has committed to the University of Utah.
Other locals to make the rankings include Samantha Lingenbrink (29th, formerly of Central Kitsap), CK’s Sarah Avery (39th) and Alicia Carlin (43rd), Port Angeles’ Ashlee Reid (106th) and Kingston’s Miranda Hoffer (130th).
Former South Kitsap standout Rosie Zimsen had her pool record broken last Saturday at Foss High in Tacoma. Zimsen held the record of 52.93 in the 100-yard freestyle since 1986. Emma Chard, a senior at Foss, surpassed the mark in 52.74 in the Falcon Relays.
