All-Star baseball, softball games Thursday

The Senior All-Star baseball doubleheader is Thursday at Gene Lobe Fields at the Fairgrounds.

The two seven-inning games begin at 4 p.m. The top 10 players are nominated for the All-State series in Yakima.

There’s also a softball All-Star game that begins at 3:30 p.m. It is a one-game, nine-inning format. The American All-Stars, coached by South Kitsap’s Jessica Cabato, include players from South, Bremerton, Olympic, North Kitsap and Sequim. National All-Stars are from Bainbridge, Central Kitsap, Kingston, North Mason, Klahowya and Port Angeles. The National team will be coached by Dan Haas of Olympic College.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Active military and kids under 12 are free.

    Bummer, Riley Gregoire never knew she was selected! This would have been fun! How did players find out they were selected to play?
