In softball,
South Kitsap beat Mount Rainier 9-3 in a Class 4A West
Central/Southwest District game. Hayley Romo hit a three-run homer.
South Kitsap lost its second game to Todd Beamer 3-2 and will have
to win Saturday morning for a state spot.
In the 2A tourney, Sumner eliminated North Mason 1-0.
Kingston won its opener against 13-1. The Bucs play Fife at 4 p.m.
in a winner-to-state game.
Olympic beat Lindbergh 7-3. The Trojans play White River at 6 p.m.
in a winner-to-state game.
Kingston and Olympic’s second games were rained out and will be
hopefully played Saturday.
In track and field
Olympic is having a nice first day. The Trojans won the shot put
title (Kyle Campbell at 48-3) and the long jump (Tommy Secrest at
21-3) title and Zach Smith had the top prelim time in the 100.
Kingston’s Annie Roberts won the 1,600 title. North Kitsap’s Reagan
Colyer had the top prelim times in both hurdle events.
