Big Saturday playoff update post

Lot going on today. We’ll try to keep you updated all day.

To start with, in soccer:
Mount Rainier eliminates South Kitsap 4-0 in the 4A district game.
In the 2A district tournament, Olympic advances to state with a shootout win over Orting. It was 4-2 in the shooout.
Sequim was eliminated by Franklin Pierce 1-0 in the 2A districts.
Kingston advances to state tournament by beating Evergreen of Seattle 3-0 in a 2A district game.
Central Kitsap also advances to state tournament with a 2-1 win over Tahoma in the 4A districts.
North Kitsap claims a spot at state with a 3-1 win over Fife in a 2A district game.

Baseball:
Red-hot South Kitsap (eight straight wins) pounded Kentwood 11-1 in 4A district semifinals. They will play Puyallup for title at 7 p.m. The win streak came to an end in the title game as top-ranked Puyallup won 9-3.
White River eliminates Bremerton 10-0 in five innings in a 2A district game.
Fife beat North Kitsap 1-0 in the 2A district semifinals. Lost in the 3rd/4th-place game to Lindbergh 15-1.
Olympic will join NK at state next weekend after eliminating Klahowya 5-0. Kipp Cartharius throws a no-hitter for the Trojans. Oly beat White River 10-0 in the 5th/6th-place game.
Bainbridge won the Metro League title, beating O’Dea 14-6. The last time the Spartans were in the postseason, they lost to O’Dea in the Class 3A state title game.

In track and field
At the Narrows League meet, Central Kitsap’s Rose Christen won the 3,200 title in a school record 10:40.

In softball
In the Olympic League tournament, Kingston beat Olympic 1-0 in the 3rd/4th-place game.
Sequim beat Port Angeles 10-0 in the title game.

    South Kitsap plays at 7:00pm for the WCD Championships at Art Wright Field in Kent.
