In the baseball playoffs:
Bainbridge baseball, which went 10-10 in the regular season,
earns a spot at the Class 3A state tournament. The Spartans beat
Seattle Prep 8-2 in the Metro League tournament semifinals.
Bainbridge will play for the Metro title on Saturday.
North Kitsap clinched a spot at state with a 7-1 win over Klahowya
in the 2A district tournament. They will play Fife in the district
semifinals on Saturday at 10 a.m. Klahowya will play Olympic, which
lost to Fife 6-2, in a winner-to-state, loser-out game on
Saturday.
Bremerton lost to Sumner 5-0. The Knights will play White River at
Franklin Pierce at 10 a.m. in a loser-out, winner-to-state
game.
In softball,
In the Olympic League tournament, Olympic beat North Mason 1-0 on
Zoe Roberts’ RBI double. Bulldogs take the fifth seed and Olympic
plays Sequim in the semifinals on Saturday.
In the Metro League tournament, Bainbridge beat Nathan Hale 15-0 to
advance to the semifinals.
In soccer,
Bainbridge, the defending Class 3A state champs, earned a spot at
state by beating Ingraham in a Metro League semifinals, 5-1. The
Spartans will play Lakeside in the Metro League championships on
Friday.
North Kitsap beat Kingston 2-0 in an Olympic League tiebreaker.
They share the league title, but the Vikings take the No. 1 seed
into Saturday’s Class 2A West Central District Tournament.
Bremerton lost in a Class 2A West Central District play-in game to
White River. The game was 1-1 after overtime. White River won in a
shootout, 4-2.
In golf,
Central Kitsap’s Auburey MacKenzie won the Narrows League 4A title.
