Port Townsend’s playoff path cleared up
February 4th, 2013 by nathan joycePort Townsend has to finish seventh (or tied for seventh) to
qualify for the Class 1A Tri-District tournament.
If PT gets that seventh-place finish, it would host a Tri-District
qualifier against the Nisqually’s lowest-qualifying team.
The Port Townsend boys are in seventh place and the girls are tied
for fifth place in the Olympic League.
Assuming they hold those positions, the playoff games are
Saturday.
Here is the district bracket for the boys and the girls.
This same formula is in place for spring sports, except the
Nisqually League team will host the game.
Port Townsend is still trying to gain entry into the Nisqually
League, but determination for the next academic year has’t been
made, athletic director Patrick Kane said in an email.
