Taking a quick look at the basketball playoff picture
Posted By nathan joyce On January 17, 2013 @ 9:48 pm In Basketball | No Comments
There’s three week left in the basketball regular season. Time
to take a look at how the playoff picture is developing.
In the 4A, the top four head to the West Central/Southwest District
tournament. For the boys, South Kitsap is in a three-way tie for
first (and hosts Bellarmine Prep another team tied for first) on
Wednesday. Central Kitsap is in that fourth spot.
For the girls, Central Kitsap is in the fourth spot, a half game
ahead of Gig Harbor and a half game behind Olympia and Yelm. South
Kitsap is in sixth place.
In the 2A, the top five head to the West Central District
tournament. Gone is the sub-district tournament and there’s no
league tournament.
Olympic, Sequim and Bremerton have the inside track to the top
three spots (and a first-round bye), but Kingston and North Kitsap
are just a game or two back. Top five make the playoffs. Klahowya
is two games back of NK and needs to get moving if it’s going.
For the girls, Port Angeles and Bremerton are running away with the
top two spots with Olympic and North Kitsap close behind. Kingston
is sitting in the fifth spot.
