Klahowya’s Crane, NK’s Solis top qualifiers to district swim meet

Defending state champion Kelsey Crane of Klahowya and North Kitsap’s Serita Solis are the top seeds in two events at the upcoming Class 2A West Central District swimming championships Friday and Saturday at Hazen HS in Renton.

Crane, who won the 500-yard freestyle last season as a freshman, is the top seed in the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 30.26 seconds. She’s also the No. 1 seed in the 200 individual medley in 2:18.01.

Solis, a freshman, is seeded first in the 100 freestyle in 58.04. Kingston’s Katherine Andersen is the third seed in the 200 freestyle in 2:08.64.

Port Angeles senior Tracie Macias is the No. 1 seed in the 200 free (2:06.52), 100 backstroke (1:03.91) while Sequim’s Emily Van Dyken is the top qualifier in the 1-meter diving (247.60).

Port Angeles’ 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays are all in as the top seeds.
