Crazy one in Spokane: state football records fall

October 19th, 2012 by nathan joyce

In case you missed it, there was a wild game last night in Spokane. A Central Valley kicker hit a 67-yard field goal as time expired to send a 55-55 game into overtime. The 67-yarder is a state record and is second or third in the national record book, depending on where you look.

The FG, which sent a 55-55 game into overtime, overshadowed a 577-yard passing performance by Brett Rypien (the nephew of Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien), which was also a state record.

Oh yeah, Central Valley beat Shadle Park 62-55.
