Girls Soccer: Next week’s key games
September 7th, 2012 by jeff grahamMonday, Sept. 10: Three of last year’s top scorers will be on the field when Crosspoint plays in Port Townsend at 5 p.m. Crosspoint sophomores Emma Laurion (25) and Desere’e Doty (24) combined for 49 goals last season and were the top two West Sound scorers, while Port Townsend’s Irina Lyons scored 13 regular-season goals to lead all Olympic League players.
Tuesday, Sept. 11: Klahowya takes on Port Angeles at 6:30 p.m. The Eagles begin the season favored to win their third straight Olympic League title, but don’t sleep on the Roughriders, who are looking to qualify for the postseason for the fourth consecutive season.
Thursday: Sept. 13: South Kitsap opens Narrows League play at home against Stadium at 7 p.m. Last year, the Wolves grabbed the last playoff spot in the league by finishing fourth, one spot ahead of Stadium.
