Video of North Kitsap wrestler Velarde
July 26th, 2012 by jeff grahamHere is a video of North Kitsap wrestler Jake Velarde competing in the Cadet/Junior National Championships in Fargo, N.D. Velarde, a three-time state champion, took eighth in Greco behind fellow Washington wrestler Joe Grable. Remember, Velarde beat Grable (Deer Park) in the state finals in February at the Tacoma Dome. In the closing seconds of that match, an upset Grable, sensing defeat, basically starting taking swings at Velarde. Should be interesting if these guys are in the same weight class next season.
