Changes coming to Kickoff Classic

June 13th, 2012 by nathan joyce

The Kickoff Classic, the annual football fest held at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, has undergone some dramatic changes this year.
It’s moving to Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Why? Because with Husky Stadium undergoing a remodel, the Huskies are playing San Diego State at CenturyLink on Sept. 1.
The red turf at Roos Field will host the four-game slate: Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia vs. Reardan, 10 a.m., Colville vs. Freeman, 1 p.m., East Valley-Yakima vs. Cheney, 4 p.m., Central Valley vs. Ferris, 7 p.m.
Since it’s not in Seattle, the event is renamed the WIAA Kickoff Classic.
The volleyball tournament, held in conjunction with the football event, will be at Cheney High School. The teams still haven’t been determined.
