Klahowya’s Hennegan tabbed for national tournament team

March 28th, 2011 by Annette Griffus

Lacrosse standout Jacky Hennegan, who plays for Klahowya but attends Central Kitsap, was named to the Washington state team for the U.S. Lacrosse women’s division national tournament, May 28-29 at Stony Brook University in New York.

Hennegan is the only Kitsap peninsula player named to the 21-member team. The tournament is one of the oldest lacrosse tournaments in the country and was started in 1933. Washington will join 60 teams from across the country in the schoolgirl’s division for freshmen, sophomore and  juniors.

Central Kitsap does not field a lacrosse team.

We get it, Central Kitsap doesn’t have a lacrosse team. Who cares, it’s like their has to be an excuse as why the beloved Central Kitsap school doesn’t have a team. It’s about the person, great job Jacky who plays for the Klahowya Lacrosse team and attends Central Kitsap High School, hard work pays off.

  2. Steve Says:

The women’s high school lacrosse team is a combined team with players from all three of the CK high schools. Klahowya’s ASB provides support so the team takes on the Klahowya name. It is not accurate to imply that Klahowya has a women’s lacrosse team and CK High does not. It is just as much a Central Kitsap High team as it is a Klahowya team. Regardless, congratulations Jacky!!!
