State Updates: North Mason Loses Opener

May 28th, 2010 by cstark

Sehome beat North Mason 3-1 in a Class 2A first-round state softball game in Selah. The Bulldogs are making their 11th straight state appearance under coach Paula Grande, who is coaching her final games for North Mason. She announced earlier this month that she will step down in order to spend more time with her family.
State Track: Nathan Joyce of The Sun tells us that the weather is about as miserable as it can get in Tacoma for 4A/3A/2A state championships. It was rainy and c-c-c-old. Doesn’t look like West Sound will produce any champions today. Look for his report later tonight.
State Tennis: Klahowya’s Tracy Landram and Maggie Becker (2A in Seattle), Bainbridge’s Sasha Carter (3A in Vancouver) and Central Kitsap’s Corinne Wurden (4A in Pasco) all won their opening matches.
