PURSE TAKEN: A 60-year-old woman reported her purse was taken from her car on the 2000 block of Pottery Avenue Nov. 1. The suspects broke out her window to take the purse. Police are still investigating.
CHURCH WEED EATER TAKEN: Officials at a local church on the 2500 block of Mitchell Avenue reported Nov. 2 that unknown thieves had broken into a shed and had taken a weed eater.Police are still investigating.
AIR COMPRESSOR STOLEN: A woman at an auto glass store on the 800 block of Bethel Avenue Nov. 3 reported to police that unknown suspects had broken into a store shed and taken a $2,000 air compressor. The compressor was heavy and she felt at least two people must have taken it. She also said the suspects “gambled” by cutting a power cord that could have electrocuted them had the compressor’s power been on.Police are still investigating.
DEER PUT OUT OF MISERY: An officer was called to the intersection of South Kitsap Boulevard and Tremont Nov. 3 after a 62-year-old man had hit a deer while driving. The deer’s femur was broken, according to officers. The officer had to “dispatch the deer” with two shots, and then helped public works crews load it into a truck.
MOTORCYCLE STOLEN: A woman reported Nov. 3 that her motorcycle had been stolen from the 700 block of Sidney Avenue. Police are still investigating.
DUI SUSPECT ARRESTED: A 22-year-old man was arrested at a gas station at the intersection of Hoover Avenue SE and SE Lund Avenue around 5 p.m. Nov. 4 after police found he had a suspended license. When they contacted the man, they believed he was drunk, and a blood-alcohol test later found him to have a .067 level. A small amount of pot was also found in his car, and he was taken to the Kitsap County jail.
