Aug. 6
Ludlow Man Killed in Crash; Highway 3 Shut Down for Hours
A Port Ludlow man was killed Saturday evening in a head-on collision near Equestrian Drive and Highway 3, just north of its juncture with Highway 305.

Bremerton Man, 23, Shot, Killed
A 23-year-old East Bremerton man was shot and killed early Saturday, in what appears to be Kitsap County’s first homicide in 2006.

Sailor Who Died in Car Crash Identified
A sailor who died Wednesday morning in a car crash just outside the Bangor submarine base main gate has been identified as Albert Vincent Rios, 23.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue will ask voters this fall to approve a new fire levy lid lift on property taxes to maintain current service levels.

Aug. 30 Trial Set for Sailor Charged in Fires
A Navy petty officer who police say set fire to cars and a home during a drunken spree is set to go to trial Aug. 30 on charges of first- and second-degree arson.

A sailor stationed at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor died Wednesday morning when his car slammed into a tree near the southbound on-ramp to Highway 3.

A Little ‘Going-Away Party’
It began nine years ago as an event to bring the community together. This year, it was more about sending them away well-prepared. Westpark’s annual National Night Out on Tuesday provided residents in this low-income, yet high-spirited community a chance to talk with members of the Bremerton police and fire departments, local health and human services personnel and of course, each other.
