Well, I said it’s “barely” discussed, while you say it was “thoroughly” discussed. I’d be willing to shift my opinion and say that the treatment was somewhere in between “barely” and “thoroughly.” I feel like talking about it more here would introduce spoilers, so I will say there really isn’t much treatment of how the candidates themselves respond to the Motch Bros. plan. And my thought that it wasn’t more liberal was somewhat in response to the complaints I had heard about the movie by the Koch brothers, Galifianakis’ response to those complaints and the fact that Ferrell was involved at all.

Steve- the consequences of too much money are thoroughly discussed. The “Koch” brothers plan on selling the District to China and importing all the workers to the US to bypass shipping fees. They will have the Congressman introduce laws to bypass environmental regulations. They also plan to pay the workers 50 cents an hour. It’s funny, but to me, a good job with good pay and benefits is an extremely Liberal idea these days.

Well, I wasn’t going to see this movie, since we never go to movies anymore except to the ones shown at our local “art” house, but we will get it on DVD. Your review has me interested in it. After all, that is what is so great about this country—we can parody and make fun of the rich and influential without fear of being jailed, etc. We need a good laugh. The super-rich become too influential in the economy and politics,(because they have the power and leisure) and the other classes can only take so much of family dynasties and their effect.
