Welcome to the new year! Time to return our noses to the grind. Here’s the list of meetings for the week…

Kitsap County Commissioners (meet at 619 Division Street, Port Orchard)

Monday, Jan. 3, 10 a.m. to Noon: The board will spend this meeting sharing information — think they’ll discuss what they got for Christmas?

2 p.m.: The board will meet for 30 minutes, getting a “Kitsap Green Jobs” update.

Wednesday, Jan. 5, 8:30 a.m.: The board will review the agenda for its Jan. 11 meeting for 45 minutes; share information for 30 minutes; make its Boundary Review Board appointments for 30 minutes; and then recess into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss real estate.

City of Bremerton (meets at 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton)

Wednesday, Jan. 5, 5:30 p.m.: Council briefing begins at 5 p.m. upstairs. They’ll head downstairs for the 5:30 meeting where they’ll have the election of 2011 council officers. The only business agenda item is a resolution adopting the USS Bremerton. At the end of the regular meeting they’ll recess back upstairs to receive a briefing from the Council President and discuss “general council business.”

City of Port Orchard (meets at 219 Prospect Street)

No meeting.

City of Poulsbo (City Hall, 200 Moe Street)

Wednesday, Jan. 5, 7 p.m.: The meeting will start with the appointment and swearing in of the council’s newest council member, who is filling the vacancy left by Dale Rudolph at the end of 2010. The council members will go through the appointment process to different boards, commissions and council subcommittees. Business agenda items include approval of Financial Management Policy; approval of Kitsap Regional Library Memorandum of Agreement; a resolution for Forest Rock Lane Illegal Lot; and a final plat approval for Caldart Heights.

Housing Kitsap (meets at 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton)

Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1-3:30 p.m.: The board will meet to discuss regular business. There is no new information on the move, which the agency will make in 2011. Agenda items include updates on the agency and its financials, and the implementation of a new software system.
