Our first full week of December. Let the countdown to 2011 officially begin.

Kitsap County Commissioners (meet at 619 Division Street, Port Orchard)

Monday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m.: The board spend the bulk of this two-hour meeting talking with lobbyist Tom McBride about legislative issues.

2 p.m.: This meeting consists of a 25 minute resource conservation update; a 45 minute natural resources update; and then a closed session for an hour to discuss collective bargaining until 4:15 p.m.

5:30 p.m. (NOTE THE EARLY START TIME): The board is holding its regular meeting an hour and a half earlier than planned because it has a lengthy agenda. So lengthy in fact I’m not going to list it all here, but the night includes a budget review, the setting of the property tax levy for 2011 and a number of planning/policies changes. To see the full agenda visit the county website.

Wednesday, Dec. 8, 8:30 a.m.: Meeting starts with review of minutes, then an agenda review for the board’s Dec. 13 meeting. Information will be from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. Then DCD director Larry Keeton and Scott Diener will spend two hours talking with commissioners about the Comprehensive Plan 2010 amendments and proposed draft omnibus ordinance. The meeting will end with a 30 minute executive session to discuss real estate until noon.

Housing Kitsap (meets at 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton)

Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1-3:30 p.m.: The board will meet to discuss regular business. There is no new information on the move, which the agency will make in 2011. Financially it sounds like the agency may be able to extend its two loan obligations that were scheduled to come due in April 2011.
