‘Little Norway’ Celebrates Irish Holiday With Scottish Pipes

March 24th, 2010 by brynn grimley

I know I’m a week late here, but lets just pretend we’re honoring the one-week anniversary of the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration with this post. (Look at it as an excuse to drink more green beer).

At its weekly Wednesday meeting the Poulsbo City Council was serenaded by bagpipes in honor of St. Paddy’s Day. What I found a bit comical was this: “Little Norway” was celebrating an Irish holiday with Scottish bagpipes and the man leading the ensemble into council chambers was none other than Bill Austin — an Englishman.

The video’s not amazing, but if you close your eyes the sound is nice. Enjoy!
