‘I’m Joe Biden’
First off, because I’ve been persuaded that Joe Biden is a relatively unknown figure, here’s the link to his views on the issues, similar to the link I provided for Sarah Palin.
The headline above was a punchline to a joke on David Letterman’s show, probably in 1988. Joe Biden had run for president. After being accused of plagiarism of British politician Neil Kinnock, he was out of the race. A piece in Slate described it this way:
But Biden didn’t merely borrow words and phrasings from Kinnock, which is a time-honored practice of candidates and their speechwriters and is almost never regarded as plagiarism. He became Kinnock, as David Greenberg writes today, claiming things about himself and his family that were untrue and that he knew to be untrue.
Letterman has had an annual ritual of making a mock set of a living room with a bowl of goodies by the door. He handed out things like motor oil and creepy autobiographies to the kids. The children were dressed in funny costumes. One year a girl came in dressed as the Statue of Liberty. But it was at the time when the statue was being refurbished, so she had on a representation of the scaffolding the statue wore for a while.
In 1988, I believe, a kid came in dressed as Abraham Lincoln. Letterman asked him who he was. “I’m Joe Biden,” the child responded.

Sen. Biden has been all over the lot about Iraq, if the summary at the link you provided is accurate. I wonder if he could choose and execute a coherent policy as an executive.

Yahoo! Thank you for posting the link and info regarding Biden’s plagiarism. Now readers have a more level playing field from which to draw their own conclusions.
Sarah Palin scored a home run tonight at the convention. Following the lampooning of Obama and Biden, the Democrats will have to come up with new songs and dances.

Why does the media call attention to Palin’s law-abiding daughter while ignoring the criminal activities of Biden’s daughter?
From SoundPolitics…
The other vice-presidential candidate’s daughter
Since the children of vice-presidential candidates are supposedly newsworthy, why isn’t more being written about Sen. Joseph Biden’s daughter, Ashley Blazer Biden?
Ashley Biden was arrested in Chicago in 2002 for “obstructing a police officer”, which meant: “Biden blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements”. The charges were later dismissed in exchange for her public apology to the police.
But no recent mentions of this in the mainstream media. Also nowhere reported is Ashley Biden’s arrest for marijuana possession in New Orleans while she was a student at Tulane.
No, it shouldn’t necessarily be a big deal for an 18-year-old college student to carry a little weed. But when her father trumpets himself as “a leader in Congress on combating drug use and stemming the flow of drugs into our country.” with a special focus on “Educating Children and Keeping Drugs Out of Schools”, a responsible press should be asking Sen. Biden some questions about Ashley’s drug use (might she also have been under the influence when she messed with the police in Chicago?) and how that personal experience influences the Senator’s positions on drug policy.
And it would also be fair to ask whether Ashley was given favorable treatment in either criminal proceeding on account of her father’s position.
