Wars caused by religion or man ?

July 17th, 2012 by Mick Sheldon
Often we read of the evil and war caused by religion . And perhaps there is some truth to that . But what is also apparent is the agenda of the comments surrounding the accusations .  For we know sin is the reason for wars , the desire for man to rule over others . To take what is not his.  Recent studies have shown religious reasons for wars have actually only been about 4 percent of the reasons for the wars and conflicts attributed to religion since history has been recorded. Not exactly what we are led to believe by the secular and atheist academics of our day .
I wonder why that is ?
“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man” (Mark 7:21–23).
