Single Digits Tonight and More on the Weekend Snow Chance

I have officially closed the “How Cold Will We Get?” Poll because after this morning’s 10 degree reading, why would you vote for anything BUT the option that says “low teens”? But it appears I may have forgotten to add an option to the poll: single digits.
Indeed, Bremerton Airport is on their way to recording likely
it’s earliest single digit reading ever (I’m not 100% on that one,
but I’m pretty confident). I do know these are the coldest readings
in over a decade. Anyone still not impressed with this cold wave
will have a reason to be tomorrow morning. The NWS is forecasting a
low of 8 for Bremerton and I’m going to knock it down lower: 6! But
mainly because I like the number 6 
Tomorrow will be another very cold day. Highs will struggle to climb much above freezing. After hitting such cold overnight lows, it gets increasingly harder to warm up during the day!
Thursday will be warmer in the low to mid 30s under mostly cloudy skies. Despite the rumors of snow, most of Friday will also be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid 30s.
It’s Friday night, Saturday and Sunday that are going to be VERY tricky for forecasters. Recent American model trends have been to limit any moisture until we thoroughly warm up Monday, meaning absolutely no snow to show for this impressive cold blast.
The European and Candian models, however, tell a different story. They want to make Friday night/Saturday wintry with snow showers and Sunday downright snowy with several inches possible, especially for folks along the Hood Canal. High temperatures will be dependent on if we get snow, so this will be a tricky scenario on the temp/precip end of things for sure. Right now I’m going for light snow Saturday with rain/snow Sunday until things get into order.
I do know this for sure: warmer, rainy and breezy weather returns for Monday, Tuesday, and most of next week.
So…uh…El Nino…where are you, mister?

I was just outside, and it appears to be clouding up, and the temp here (BI) has gone up a tiny bit – from 20 to 21 in the last couple of hours.
