Another Reminder Why This Place is So Amazing

July 1st, 2009 by Matthew Leach

Wasn’t today just magnificent? I know in the winter time it is common to wonder what makes this place so wonderful, but in the summertime we are reminded almost daily. Warm temperatures accompanied by a cool seabreeze equals heaven (well, half of heaven. The other half will be a snowy winter wonderland ;) )

Yesterday we took our family from London, England to Fort Flagler and the conditions were near perfect, though I probably wouldn’t have minded if the temperature was a skosh warmer. Today I had a picnic with a friend and it was a great day to do it. I can’t remember the last time I ever had a picnic! Overall, I’d say that days like these remind us all why Kitsap County, or better yet Washington State, is such a great place to live.

If you’re itching for warmer weather you’ll get your wish as tomorrow, Friday and Saturday look sunny and warm—80s warm. Hopefully that’s not TOO warm for you. If it is, relief comes on Sunday when temperatures make their decline into the mid 70s and eventually upper 60s/low 70s by next week.

And that’s yet another reason why this place is so awesome: heatwaves don’t last all summer long! :)

Have a great evening,

Matthew Leach

Daylight Savings Time: Is it Worth it?

  • No. The amount of light we get every six months changes whether the clocks do or not, so what's the point? Just give me that extra hour of sleep back and stop messing with the clock! (71%, 79 Votes)
  • Yes. It gives us something to look forward to every 6 months: More sleep starting in November and more outdoor time starting in March (29%, 33 Votes)
