Another Dry Spell Coming Our Way

Yeah there were a few sprinkles this evening, but that’s pretty much all you can expect for the next 7 days or so as a big ridge of high pressure sets up shop (yet again!) over our area delivering partly to mostly sunny and mild days with mostly clear and frosty nights. This pattern isn’t all too rare for late winter, but it is pretty darn rare for these dry periods to be lasting so long.

Remember that snow event on the 10th? Of course you do…how could you forget? Well, we picked up 0.09” of precipitation, officially ending our dry streak from mid January. But since the 11th, we’ve only picked up a lousy 0.01” of rain so we have started yet another spell of dry weather.

This most current spell doesn’t look to last nearly as long (knock on wood) but it will last a good part of this week. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies tomorrow through Friday with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s (maybe even warmer…). The clouds and showers are scheduled to move back into the area on Saturday, possibly ending our dry streak.

The long range has us getting extreme yet again for later this month into March, so stay tuned on that one. I think it would be a big mistake to officially call this winter over.

Have a great day tomorrow!
