Sorta Cheap Eats in Seattle

If you’re feeling like doing a little trendy dining in Seattle, now’s your chance to save at least a buck or two. The annual New Urban Eats deal lets you try dinner at one of 17 restaurants opened since 2006. For $30, you get an appetizer, entree and dessert, which isn’t bad for most Seattle dinners .

Two of the restaurants are within walking distance from the downtown ferry terminal:

The first is BOKA Kitchen + Bar. It’s at the corner of First and Madison, the one with the color-changing neon wall-o-lights.

Their deal menu options are:

Appetizers: Parsnip Soup with dry roasted beets or apple and endive salad or crispy oyster sliders.

Entrée: Grilled Thundering Hooves Pork Chop with parsnip puree, roasted pears, frizzled carrots and pear caramel
Wild Mexican Prawns with green beans, pan roasted tomatoes and ginger-soy glaze
Delicata Squash Risotto with toasted pumpkin seeds and delicata chips

And for Dessert: Burnt Honey Vanilla Bean Crème Brulée with honey and vanilla custard Sorbet Trio or  Pumpkin Bread Pudding with sage ice cream and cranberry compote

There’s also Juno at 700 Third Avenue.

Appetizers: Sunchoke Tart with Caramelized onion, gruyere, sherry gastrique or Mushroom Bisque with Fennel compote or Risotto Croquettes with Red onion jam, tallegio

Entrée: Seared Scallop with Jerusalem artichoke puree, blood orange vinaigrette

Braised Painted Hills Short Ribs with Carrot puree, cilantro
Grilled Snake River Pork Tenderloin with Cranberry-port sauce, brussel petals

Dessert: S’mores with Ginger marshmallow, graham cracker cake and spiced rum chocolate sauce or Coffee & Cardamom Crème Brule with Espresso tuille or Cranberry Pecan & Brown Butter Tart

The deals started last weekend and run through Jan. 29.
