Ye Olde Food Inspiration

October 30th, 2008 by adice

Just thought I’d share this tidbit from the Kitsap Regional Library.(

Historical/actress Tames Alan will give historical food demonstrations (probably in costume) at library branches throughout the county. The first one starts on Sunday.

She’ll be giving four different types of lectures:

Trial by Fork – the settings and dishes and manners for a Victorian table

  • Bainbridge Island Library: 2 p.m. Nov. 2
  • Bremerton Sylvan Way Library: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13
  • Silverdale Library: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19

Salon Supppers – decor, dres, lighting and menus for more intimate dinners

  • Downtown Bremerton Library: 6: 30 p.m. Nov. 3
  • Poulsbo Library: 3:30 p.m. Nov. 15
  • Port Orchard Library: 2 p.m. Nov. 16

The Spice of Life
– history, origins, and uses of spices through time

  • Little Boston Library: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5
  • Manchester Library: 7 p.m. Nov. 12

There and Back Again: the Migration of New World Foods

  • Kingston Library: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4

I think I may check out one of the spice talks …
