Local customers at Jak's Cafe Poulsbo,
WA
Our day started early for a breakfast visit at
Jak’s Cafe and Espresso where Julie Krucek makes everything in
her beautiful cafe from scratch. The family recipes are all
gluten free.
She served up many rounds of egg Benedict and delicious artisan
creme puffs and really rolled out the hospitality red carpet by
singing Happy Birthday to a local Poulsbo resident. Patrons
trickled in all day from 10AM-5Pm and enjoyed their visit to the
very well known cafe.
Cash Mobbers from Kitsap County couldn’t have asked for better
weather for National Cash Mob Day. “My sales were up 40%
that day- Thanks so much! When can we do it again?” stated Julie
Krucek founder of
Jak’s cafe.

The next awesome location was
CJ’s Evergreen General Store and Catering where Cynthia
Jeffries-Cyr also rolled out the penny candy, Dinner to Go
meals from her famous catering department, hot aromatic espresso,
ice cream and pies.

Cash Mobs were instrumental in inviting local residents,
creating the certificates of appreciation and showcasing what
locally made products were available for purchase. “We bought
some of the Sequim Valley Marion Berry Jelly. I’m in heaven!”
stated Robin Henderson founder of Bremerton Cash Mobs.
Cash Mobbers and local business owners celebrated the sunny day
and the events success at another locally
owned establishment by having a nice meal at Rachel’s
in Bremerton. Everyone relaxed, socialized and networked with other
local business owners and residents that they might not have
normally met. It was a very humbling, gratifying and
emotional experience for many who attended. Cash Mobbing might be
addicting!

“I would like to thank all
of you that came by the store for the 1st Bremerton Cash Mob
yesterday. I really appreciate all the people that came out. We
feel that it was a success. We were so glad to see so many new
people and returning customers. We hope to see all of you again. If
there is anything that you would like to see us carry, just let us
know and we will see what we can do about that. Again, thank you so
much. It really was an honor to be one of the first Cash Mob sites.

Exquisite Gift Baskets presents raffle
winner Rochelle Cramer with a winning gift basket!
I visited and had a great time
at Exquisite Gift
Baskets and The Soap
Crate in Kingston Washington today.
This two dimensional studio style store is owned by artists
Donna Schambron (The Soap Crate) and Connie Obee (Exquisite
Gift Baskets). The pair recently decided to join forces using
Connie’s gift basket design skills and Donna s soap making skills
to create a wonderful and unique shopping experience with great
gift baskets of food, soaps, and gifts for any occasion that are
professionally decorated and adorned with bows, flowers in
absolutely gorgeous arrangements for any occasion.
Soap Pouring Demonstration
I also had the opportunity to view a soap pouring demonstration
that was pretty amazing. Glycerine soaps were made and decorated
and we even got to take home a sample of pretty Halloween soap.
I saw soap treats of many kinds- to include shampoo bars for
hair, pet soap, and man soap that smells like expensive beer, plus
olive oil infused, sweet, luxurious soap that we all
love!
Not to mention I had some scrumptious grand opening food that
was Halloween themed!
Thank you ladies!
Oh and I almost forgot…They frequently have raffle drawings on
special occasions and today we witnessed a very special Poulsbo
resident Rochelle Cramer win a tasty gift basket of
chocolates, coffee plus cheese and cracker delights!

If you like handpicking gifts this is a great place to
visit at 26252 Lindvog Road Suite #110, Kingston, WA
98346. Both shops also have websites where online ordering
is also available, they service both corporate and consumer clients
and are known throughout Kitsap County as the place to go for
gorgeous gifts AND delivery is available.
Both businesses are very active on facebook ( which I love), so
interact and enjoy the pictures they post and see what they are up
to! Both shops work together AND independently to meet customers
gift needs. So check both of them if you want something designed in
a unique theme for any occasion. I visit Exquisite Gift
Baskets Facebook Page and The SoapCrate Facebook Page
daily to see the latest in gifts and designs. Enjoy!

You know you think about
reaching out, you read something like this and get motivated but
then you get busy and put it on the back burner for tomorrow.
Then tomorrow turns into months or a year…maybe this is the one you
act upon?
Isn’t it time to help?
I just got word from my friend Chris Garcia with Fidelity
National Title Company that Foster Children need help. Kitsap
Realtors and Lenders are doing what they can and reaching out
to support Foster Children (and they had a very successful clothing
drive this Christmas) but everyday is not Christmas and their are
needs all year long.
Having five children of my own- I know how challenging raising
children is on a good day, on a tough day a child has to go to
school without all needs being met ( especially teenagers)
who often get left out because people love to buy little kids
clothes but forget that teenagers need clothes and personal items
to succeed. Self esteem is a really important aspect at that
particular age and can make all the difference in the daily lives
of the 12-18 age group.
For more information about next years Foster Care Clothing
Drive, or to inquire about becoming a foster parent, please call
360-692-4556 or email Chris at christopher.garcia@fnf.com.
Also, if you are buying a house this year – you might want
to give Chris a call. He can make sure your property is title
searched thoroughly and effectively by insuring you that someone’s
Uncle Joe from 1967 does not have any legal claims on your new
home… AND he offers outstanding service. Enjoy!
Read more about becoming a Foster parent here or learn how you can
donate!

I wish that I could attend
Operation Hope this Saturday but I wanted to get the word out about
this. I think it is awesome that Christ Memorial Church
is hosting this wonderful event and that people are donating time,
money and resources to help Kitsap people with hope.
Hope comes in many forms so if you know someone who needs a
spirit lift -tell them about this, maybe even offer a ride or your
presence to go with them.
I think it is so appropriate to have this during the month of
November.
Everyone needs a little hope- so share this hope with a friend
or neighbor.
Hope. It is a inside job.
If you would like to be showcased in the Kitsap Sun Designs
of the Times Blog please email me here. I would
love to hear from you.

I cannot believe how fast the holidays are approaching. Time and
money seem to be in short supply this year so I have done a few
things to help alleviate the stress of planning for gifts and
functions. This year I am attending many local Holiday Bazaars for
reasonable and thoughtful gifts. This past weekend I attended the
Eagles Club Bazzar in Poulsbo and scored a “made in the jar” cookie
gift and some really nice Jewelry.
Keep it in Kitsap and buy local!
I am wondering what are the best items or products are that you
have bought locally or from a artist?

This weekend I will be visiting the House of Awakened Culture
that will help me get arts, & crafts, raffles & 50/50, and
food galore!
It is from Saturday- Sunday November 20-21st 10am – 4pm in
Suquamish.
Suquamish is a unique community with little shops, restaurants and
the most gorgeous view of Seattle and the surrounding area that you
ever did see. It will be a treat for your shopping and scenery
senses and a great way to spend the day!
Yours truly will be there both days selling AND buying! If you
see me, come say hello. I may even interview you for this blog. It
might not make you totally (ok maybe a little) famous AND
you can brag the link to all your relatives and friends!
Hope to see all of you there!

Chris & Emily + Corgi Rosie
Pepper’s Cottage Home in Bremerton!
Yes, those two word go together in the
unique new design of this old home in Bremerton, Washington located
in lovely Kitsap County.
This just solidifies my theory that
the house doesn’t matter, it REALLY IS about the water
and the view! With home loan options dwindling, this might be a
great idea.
Look what they did! I give this a big
thumbs up for imagination, design and of course the view!
Read more and vote !
PS) This is a house that just screams
they should have cute chicks and chickens! Just my 02 cents!
