I painted the cabinets right after we moved in, over ten years ago. It’s time for them to be repainted and I want to add warm brass hardware. I’d like to remove the false upper portion, and re-hang the cabinets flush with the ceiling, to add an open shelf underneath. New soapstone counter tops would be wonderful, and I can imagine a farmhouse sink. A white subway tile laid in a herringbone pattern with light grey grout would complete the look.
